FAQ
Perimenopause & menopause: your questions
What's the difference between perimenopause and menopause?
Perimenopause is the transition leading up to menopause, often several years of fluctuating hormones, with symptoms like irregular periods, hot flushes and brain fog. Menopause itself is the point 12 months after your last period. We help you work out where you sit and what to expect next.
Do I need a referral?
No, there's no referral and no waitlist. Elladee is nurse-led education and advocacy, so you can book directly online and be seen quickly.
When should I see a GP?
We strongly encourage you to maintain a patient-centred relationship with your GP throughout our time with you. Our 1:1 appointments and 4-week courses are designed to provide you with the most current, evidence-based education; preparing you to have constructive and well-informed conversations with your health providers. You will need to see your GP for any prescriptions, referrals and diagnosis. Our job is to help you get there confidently and GP-ready.
What should I bring to a session?
Just yourself; we take care of the rest. When you book, we'll send you our health assessment to complete before your session. It covers your medical, family and social history, and helps us understand your health in the context of your whole life, not just the reason you're coming in. Developed over many years of working alongside women and doctors, it means we can make the most of your time together from the very first session.
What actually happens in a session?
A relaxed, judgement-free conversation. We explain what's happening in your body, decode your symptoms, and send you away with a clear plan and a set of questions to take to your GP.
Is this medical advice?
No. We provide education and advocacy, not diagnosis, prescriptions or treatment. For medical care, see your GP. Our job is to prepare you to have collaborative conversations with your health providers.
Ready for answers?
Book a 1:1 session, join the next group program, or just get in touch. Nurse-led, judgement-free, and on your side.
